How it works

A place appears

A city, a volcano, a stadium, a flag. Each pack asks the world in its own way.

Your guess pin and the answer pin connected by a dashed line on the map

Tap the map

One tap on the world map. You have 10 seconds. The clock is already running.

Score the tap

Up to 1,000 points per question. Accuracy times speed, judged against the map you're on. Smaller maps demand sharper aim.

One map. Every age.

Corto has one mechanic and four reasons to play it. Nobody has to learn controls, read rules, or make an account. The map is the one interface every generation already knows, and knowledge beats reflexes, so grandpa wins sometimes.

Netherlands Provinces pack tile with a Conquered badge

Kids learn it

Classic topography as a game. 10 free Learn packs cover the countries, states, and provinces school asks for, and every wrong tap shows the right answer.

Multiplayer: challenge a friend, head-to-head, best of 3 rounds

Friends battle it

Head-to-head, best of 3 rounds. Same questions, same clock, no excuses. The score does the talking.

Wine Regions pack art

Fans prove it

162 packs test what you're obsessed with. Wine regions, F1 circuits, WWII battlegrounds, the streets of Amsterdam.

A pack's history screen: best, average and latest score, with the trend across every game played

Grandparents stay sharp

Two minutes, one tap, no ads. A daily workout for your inner atlas, and a turn-based duel the grandkids can't win on reflexes.

See it in motion

Then go and look at it

Explore in 3D: a tilted aerial view of Himeji Castle after the answer is revealed, with a short description of the site

Get a landmark right and you can fly down to it. Explore drops you into a tilted 3D view of the real place, with a line about what you are looking at. It is the moment the answer stops being a dot on a map.

Available on 67 packs, from castles and bridges to airports and city streets. Off by default on older phones, and a single switch in Settings either way.

Climb the ladder

Every game earns a rank, per pack. Beat the thresholds, conquer the pack, and collect the crown. 162 packs means 162 ladders to climb.

Each pack has its own themed rank titles. Score big on Film Locations and you're a Location Scout, chasing Director's Master.

Ranks

🚩NoviceEvery completed game earns a rank.Any score
SkilledA solid game.7,000+
🏆ExpertA strong game.8,500+
👑ConqueredThe top rank. Conquers the pack.9,500+

Underneath it all you also carry a level that grows with every game you finish, wherever you play. It unlocks nothing, because packs are the only thing you ever buy.

On your Home Screen

The Explorer widget puts Corto one tap away, with where you are up to and whose move it is in your running matches. Works on the Lock Screen too.

A second widget tracks your multiplayer games on their own, so you always know who is stalling.

Why it sticks

10s

Per question. Long enough to think, short enough to hurt. Every round is under two minutes.

162

Themed packs. Capitals and cities, flags and airport codes, volcanoes, wine regions, WWII battlegrounds.

1v1

Head-to-head multiplayer. Challenge a friend, trade turns, settle it on the map.

14,000+

Questions across the catalogue, from world capitals to the streets of Amsterdam. No two games alike.

Your world, on every device

Corto plays in English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish. Not just the buttons: all 162 packs carry translated names and descriptions, and in the free learning packs the countries, states and provinces are named in your language too, which is the whole point if you are using them for school.

Your records, your ranks and every pack you have unlocked follow you between iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud account. There is no Corto account to create, no password, and no profile. A new phone or a reinstall picks up where you left off.
